Are Your Products Made In America?

Yes, our shop is in Fort Worth, Texas and all materials are bought from local suppliers. We are a retired police officer owned small business.

Is Assembly Required?

Nope!  All our products are assembled and ready to be loved by your pets!

How Do I Determine Which Bed Size Is Right for My Pet?

To find the perfect bed for your dog, measure your dog while he or she is in his or her normal sleeping position. You should measure from the nose to the base of the tail. Once you have your dog's length, add about 10" to determine the bed's length or diameter. When in doubt, choosing a size up is recommended.

Why Does My Pet Need An Orthopedic Bed Mattress?

As your pet gets older, he or she may begin to experience joint problems like arthritis. Large breeds in particular seem to develop joint and muscle issues as they grow older. It only makes sense—they have more weight to carry around on their four legs. In order to give your pets the support they need, it’s very important to invest in an orthopedic dog bed

Don’t wait until your pet develops health problems. If your pet is given a quality bed, a healthy diet and lots of exercise, then they’ll be less likely to develop problems later on in life.

How Do I Choose The Right Wood For My Pet's Bed?

There are a variety of different woods used in the construction of pet beds, and because different woods have different strengths and weaknesses, it is wise to familiarize yourself with some of the most common choices manufacturers use. 

Here's a breakdown of our wood selections:

Walnut

Walnut is a high-end wood, which is fairly expensive and usually features plenty of visually appealing grain patterns, knots, and unique markings.

Walnut is a rather dark rich wood, ranging from pale brown to chocolate. Walnut’s natural color is a significant part of its appeal, so staining is rarely done.

It’s not treated wood?Walnut doesn’t rot very easily, so it can be used in outdoor contexts.

Maple

Maple is quite strong, and usually features a straight grain and look great, so the wood is popular with furniture makers.

It is rarely has many knots or other markings and it is relatively pale; normally, it is off-white. 

Mahogany

It is harder than other hardwoods such as pine or oak. For example it is approximately twenty-eight percent more stable and seventy percent harder than oak. Mahogany hardwood is resistant to scratches and water due to its hardness and it has no pockets or grooves 

The textures of the grain are uniformed, which makes beautiful patterns that go with almost all furniture. 

Mahogany  beds will not fade as easily because sunlight is absorbed by the wood.

How Do I Clean The Wood Furniture?

As with any wood piece, your product will last longer and hold up better if you take good care of it. This is pretty easy to do, just try to embrace the following tips and practices:

1.  Keep the Bed Dry

Moisture will quickly ruin most unfinished woods, so do your best to keep your furniture piece dry

Avoid placing  in damp basements or outdoors, unless they are sealed or constructed from wood that is likely to withstand moisture. If the wood becomes wet, try to dry it quickly and place it in a warm, sunny location until it dries completely.

2.  Wipe It Down Frequently

Wipe it down with a soft cloth once a week or so.

You can use a non-toxic furniture spray on sealed woods, as long as the manufacturer reports that it is safe to do so. Just be sure to test any cleaning agent on an inconspicuous portion of the bed first, to test for discoloration.

How Do I Clean The Bed Mattress?

After your pet has used his/her pet mattress for awhile, it will need to be cleaned to get rid of the dirt and freshen the bed up so that it smells good again.

Step 1

Remove the outside cover to the foam bed using the zipper on the side.

Step 2

Place the cover in the washing machine and set the water temperature to cold. Add a scoop of laundry detergent and turn the machine on.

Step 3

Fill your bathtub halfway full with warm water. Add a small scoop of laundry detergent to the water. Work the soapy water in to the foam with your hands, as brushes will damage the foam.

Step 4

Empty the soapy water from the tub and fill it back up with just water. Rinse the foam bed out. You will need to squeeze the foam several times to get the soap out. Just keep working on it with your hands until there are no more suds.

Step 5

Take the cover and the foam mattress outside and place them in the sun to dry. You don’t want to dry the cover in the dryer because it could shrink the cover. Then you wouldn’t be able to fit the foam back in the cover.

Step 6

Place the foam back inside of the cover and zip it up.

How Long Does It Take for My Order to Ship?

All orders ship within  6-8 weeks as each purchase is custom hand made to order.. In rare circumstances, an item is back-ordered and may take longer, in which case we notify customers immediately. We at Modern Paw Furniture pride ourselves on quality  craftsmanship  first, then prompt delivery. We make every effort to fill orders promptly.

Can I Request Rush Shipping?

If you require expedited shipping, please contact us with your order details and your desired delivery date. We will do our best to accommodate your request. There will be an additional charge for all expedited orders.

How Can I Find Out The Status of My Order?

Once you place your order, you can email us at any time and we will provide progress updates.

How Will I Know When My Order Ships?

Once your order is filled, you will receive tracking information for your shipment. So that we may offer a wider range of products, many items are shipped directly from the designer/manufacturer. Shipping carriers include but are not limited to USPS, FedEx, and UPS.

What If My Product Is Damaged During Shipment?

DAMAGED IN TRANSIT:  FURNITURE FREIGHT DAMAGE POLICY & REPORTING PROCEDURES

Products from Modern Paw Furniture are carefully prepared, packed and secured for safe transit and delivery. Freight damage is a rare occasion.  Please carefully check the shipment on arrival for any potential damage.  If there is damage, make a note of the damage on the Shipper's receipt form before you sign to accept the delivery and make a note of the Shipper's contact information.  On the unusual occurrence of freight damage, the following guide should be helpful.

All Modern Paw Furniture is shipped from FedEx to the customer. Modern Paw Furniture assumes no responsibility and makes no allowance for delays, loss or damage from any cause after goods have been delivered to transportation companies. The Freight Damage policies of the FedEx Common Carrier must be followed.

A claim for discovered damage must be filed with the Shipper, by the Buyer, immediately upon discovery, in any event within 10 days of the delivery date. Modern Paw Furniture is not responsible for damages incurred in transit. It is the responsibility of the buyer to inspect the received furniture and report damage to the Shipper immediately. The customer must submit a completed freight claim to the Shipper. The Shipper's telephone number is on your receipt form. Please call the Shipper to request a Freight Claim Form. A claim form for any Fedex can be found on their website here: https://www.fedex.com/en-us/customer-support/claims.html

Measures Buyer can take that will help in the claim process include the following:

  1. Take photographs of the damage. If possible, photographs of the equipment still on the truck will limit the Buyer's liability.

  2. Call the Shipper to report the damage and request a claim form. Preferably, the call should be made before the driver leaves the site.

  3. Request an inspector when you (Buyer) are reporting damage to the Shipper.

  4. Buyer should keep a copy of the Shipper's Receipt, on which Buyer notes the damage and the driver's signature.

Yes! We offer the following non-transferable warranties to the original retail purchaser subject to the terms and conditions below:

{WARRANTIES DO NOT COVER DAMAGE TO PRODUCTS CAUSED BY YOUR FUR BABIES}

Modern Paw Furniture offers a written guarantee of the integrity of our furniture and assumes responsibility for the repair or replacement of defective parts. Our furniture is warranted against defective materials or workmanship for five years, based on reasonable use. If there’s a problem with the wood bed frame or feeder frame, Modern Paw Furniture will, at its discretion, repair or replace the product.

Certain warranties may not apply to defects that result from negligence, misuse and/or accidents. Any condition resulting from incorrect or inadequate maintenance, cleaning or care, or commercial use; other than ordinary residential wear or from any use for which the product was not designed, including but not limited to outdoor use. The matching of color, grain, or texture of wood and/or fabrics. The colorfastness, dye lot variations, wrinkling, or wear of fabrics. The softening of filling materials under normal use.
